I asked Little Miss M - Do you want to have your birthday at a play centre and you can invite lots of friends, or do you want me to plan an at-home party with just a few friends? After all the fun that she had been having at her friends parties being held at a play centre, I was very surprised when Little Miss M opted for an at-home party.  Apparently, I'm loved because I plan the birthdays. And so a birthday party was planned... A FURBY PARTY!!  Dah-Noh-Lah!  Party party!! We had games... A photo booth with props... (and we printed out the photos for the guests to take home) We had cake... And we sent the party guests home with a furby key chain, a photo from the photo booth and some homemade love... Yes, I had to take a few days off from work to get everything done. Yes, the Furby cake was filled with smarties and m&m's (not sure why we don't have a picture of it).  And I really don't want to think of how much butter was used to ma...

Hello there world and all of its lovely people.  I've indulged my laziness and procrastination tendencies enough and I'm ready to face the world.  What have you been up to in the past 6 months? I think I've found a pattern... I think it takes me about half a year to get going; to get my mojo on; to get off my arse.  After a quiet six months, all of a sudden, I have inspiration boards and I have time planners and I have goals..  and it's already July. Anyways, here are a few handmade goodies that have graced my craft table in the past six months.  Either I've been really non-productive or I've been really lazy with the camera.  Probably both... never mind.  Let's work with what we've got... I was researching a book where it's origins was a blog that had become popular.  This seems to be a common path these days amongst the blogs that specifically focus on a certain topic. I was reading the review of a book where it's origins had been an-obscure-blog-turned-popular and came across a scathing remark.  It was along the lines of ... another book and another blog from another bored mommy blogger.  And I thought - geez, that's me.  I might not have a book out (yet! :) hahaha) but my blog is just another in a long line of (bored, maybe) mommy bloggers.  And so I had yet another excuse to step away from the computer and from my blog. But this is the thing about blogging, including bored mommy blogging.  It's a connection.  By frequenting other blogs, I get to connect with other people out there.  And I get to connect in a most efficient manner.  I don't need the small talk.  I don't need the oops-that-was-a-taboo-subject moment...

Hey there!!!  Long time; no see.  And I've finally figured out why!!  I think it's because I haven't been taking photos.  I've been a bit discouraged with my photographs every since we got a new lens.  I'm not blaming my equipment (:)), but it's taking me a while to get used to it. So, I've got to lug my beloved camera around and just practise practise practise. Anyways, here's what I have been up to... Fabric Origami Boxes.  I bet you would not have put fabric and origami together, eh?  Eh?  Eh?  But yes, they can and I did and it worked.  It worked wonderfully. Here's my latest project... with me going back to my card making as well which is a bonus...  Blank cards (with matching envelopes) inside fabric boxes. This was a present for a friend of my Dear Husband whom I knew would appreciate it.  And she did.  And the funny thing (well, to me anyway), was that I gave the present with no card. ...

Talk about reliving the memories - I spent a fun-filled night at Bobby McGees!!!  In a true stroke of entertaining genius, D & S held their engagement party at Bobby McGees.  Nothing can invoke the "good-ole-days" memory store better than going back to the scene of the crime - complete with the music, the sticky floor, the dark corners and the free-flowing cocktails. * smiling reminiscently * - yep the good ole days. As I wait for the bread to rise and the chicken to cook, here's my contribution to the blog world for the day.  To one of my best friend's little one (and to the deserving parents for making it this far with your sanity intact) - Happy Birthday L - "summtin summtin" inside for both you and your folks.

I woke up feeling very restless.  Even chocolate could not satisfy me - and I did try every few minutes to see if it would work.  I needed a "homemade" fix before we went out to the shops or who knows what I would have bought to get some gratification.  So here are my quick cards - general purpose, probably for family.  I tried to brighten up the gray, but *shrug* gray is gray.
